(AP) -- Truman State Senior Rachel McCarroll earned All-America honors with a sixth place finish in the Women’s Weight Throw at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday.
It is the first All-America honor for the Bulldog.
On her second throw in the event, McCarroll tossed 59-09.00 (18.23m), which at the time was the fourth best throw.
She would end up sixth as Sam Lockhart (Grand Valley State) tossed 21.05 meters in her final throw to win the national championship.
McCarroll will next join her teammates for the start of the outdoor season later in March.
