Truman State Swimmers make a splash at the Conference Championships

Five combined B-Cut times in four events highlighted night one of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship/Invitational for the Truman men’s and women’s swimming teams on Thursday evening.
 
In the opening event of the night, freshman Brynn Guardado stamped a B-cut time in the 1000 Free, capturing first-place by more than seven seconds with a time of 10:18.89. Allison Harding also notched a B-cut time in the race, touching the wall in fifth at 10:29.78.
 
Then, in the men’s version of the 1000 Free, Jerod Simek added his own B-cut time with a mark of 9:18.10, good for second-place in the event.
 
Finally, in the 800 Free Relay competitions to close the abbreviated night, the Bulldog women took home first place in both the A (7:40.41; B-cut) and B (7:51.57) finals, while the men logged a fourth-place, B-cut time of 6:51.59.
 
Full team scores were unavailable at the time of posting. Friday’s preliminary competition begins at 10:00 am, with day two finals set to get underway at 6:00 pm.
