Wrestling Rallies For First Conference Dual Win Of Season

HAYS, Kan. – The Truman Wrestling team bounced back and knocked off #17 Fort Hays (Kan.) State University in the team’s final MIAA dual match of the season 23-14.

The Bulldogs will return to Pershing Arena on Wednesday night to face Division I, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville at 7:30 p.m.
 
The Bulldogs fell behind 7-0 but got things going when Alex Maus pinned Symon Seaton at the 4:47 mark in the 141-pound match.
 
Ryan Maus followed with a 6-3 decision over Noah Killip at 149 and Colton Schmitz took a 3-1 decision over Bradley Little at 157.
 
Dustin McClintock made it four straight Truman wins with a major victory over Mark Roundtree by an 11-1 tally.
 
Nate Seiler and Helmut Rentschler secured the dual win with an 11-9 decision and 12-2 major decision respectively at 184 and 197.
 
Ryan Ward lost an overtime match at heavyweight 3-1 to the Tigers’ John Close.
 
The Bulldogs are 6-4 overall and finished the conference dual season at 1-4.

Fort Hays sits at 11-7 and 2-2 in the league.
