The third ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos remained perfect in conference dual action with a 38-0 victory over the Truman Bulldogs on Wednesday night in Pershing Arena.

Truman will wrap up the conference dual season this weekend with a trip to Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays (Kan.) State.

The Bulldogs fall to 5-3 overall and 0-3 in the MIAA while the Bronchos improve to 9-1 and 4-0 in the conference.

The featured match of the night was at 149 as top ranked Jordan Basks of UCO squared off against Truman’s Ryan Maus.

The two combatants were scoreless in the first period but Basks rode Maus for the entire second to grab a riding time advantage.

Maus finally escaped with 1:25 left in the third to get the first point on the board but with both frantically trying for a takedown late, the clock expired with Basks earning the advantage time point to send it to overtime.

In the extra period, Basks secured the winning takedown with 18 seconds left to pull out the 3-1 win.

In the next bout, Colton Schmitz battled third ranked Cory Dauphin with Dauphin getting a two-point takedown right as the first period expired.

Dauphin then quickly escaped the down position to start the second to go up 3-0.

Schmitz nearly had a takedown late in the period but the buzzer sounded ending the attack while Dauphin was able to ride Schmitz for the entire third period to pick up the 4-0 win.

Central Oklahoma did not surrender a takedown during the dual with the only Truman match points coming via escapes.
