Truman State University Baseball Camps

2013 Winter Hitting League

Camp Dates (Each Date is a Sunday): January 13, 20, 27; February 3 & 10
Camp Fee: $60 per individual player
$200 per 4-player team
($10 discount per player-must have FULL 4-player team at sign-up)

Registration Deadline: January 9, 2013
(Hitters will get their hitting times via email or telephone by January 11.)

Hitting League Information:
The Teams are comprised of four player teams who compete against other teams within their grade division (4-6).  Individuals not signed up with a team will be assigned to one.  The 7-12 grade hitters will be exposed to our advanced hitting experience including tee work, short toss, and live BP.

Scoring is determined by marked areas in the batting cage.  Each scoring area is worth progressively more points.  Each hitter gets six swings off the pitching machine.  After each hitter has batted, it is considered an inning.

Instruction is provided by the Truman coaching staff and current baseball players.

The philosophy of the Bulldog Hitting League is to provide a way for young hitters to improve their skills during the offseason.

The Hitting League camp design is subject to change depending on the number of hitters signed up.

  2013 Truman Baseball Pitching/Catching Camp

January 5
Ages: 13 - 18
Camp Times: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
(Check-in starts at 12:30 PM)

Ages: 8 - 12
Camp Times: 9:00 AM - Noon
(Check-in starts at 8:30 AM)
 

Location: Pershing Arena
Cost: $40 per player
Preferred Registration Deadline: January 3, 2013 (Walk-ups Welcome)

Activities:
Pitchers: Proper warm-up, pitching mechanics, drills emphasizing mechanics, pick-off move, pitch grips, and live pitching.

Catchers: Proper warm-up; blocking, framing, throwing, and footwork drills; pop times to second; and catching live pitching.

Equipment:
Pitchers: Please bring your glove and tennis shoes.

Catchers: Please bring your own catcher's gear (mask, chest protector, cup, shin guards, glove, tennis shoes).

Location: Pershing Arena/Small Gym
Cost: $40 per player
(Limited to first 30 registrants)
 Registration Deadline: January 2, 2013

Activities:
Offense: Proper warm-up, hitting mechanics, drills emphasizing mechanics, tee and soft toss work, and bunting mechanics.

Defense: Proper warm-up, throwing, footwork drills, daily mechanics progression at each position, fielding and throwing mechanics (this camp excludes pitchers and catchers).

Equipment:
Please bring bat, helmet, glove and tennis shoes for workout on gym floor.
