Truman State Women's basketball bounces Rockhurst

The Truman Women’s Basketball team cruised to a 67-49 victory over Rockhurst (Mo.) University to improve to 5-0 on the season. Jennifer Conway led four Bulldogs in double-figures with 15 points and eight rebounds.
 
The first five minutes of the game were nip and tuck but with the Bulldogs leading at 8-6, Truman scored 14 of the next 16 points over the next five minutes to break the game wide open.

Conway  had 11 points in the first half and Truman shot 53% while holding Rockhurst to 36%.
 
Truman took their largest lead of the game with just under seven minutes to play at 27 points (65-38).
 
Becka McHenry added 13 points, six rebounds and six assists.Nicole Gloor  was 6-of-8 from the floor for 12 points and Courtney Strait  added 11. Bianca Szafarowicz  scored eight points and had six of her eight rebounds on the offensive end.

Truman won the battle of the boards 42-33.
 
Both teams came into the contest averaging seven three-pointers per game but shot a combined 2-25. Truman was 1-of-10 while the Hawks were 1-of-15 from beyond the arc.
 
No Rockhurst player scored in double-figures as Allison Streich led the team with nine points.
 
Truman will be in action again next Wednesday night as the open the conference season with a road trip to Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph.

The Bulldogs edged the Griffons 67-65 in a non-conference game last Friday in Jefferson City. Tip time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
