Following more than a week off after playing three games in five days, the Truman men’s basketball team looks to close out November with a win when it hosts Grand View (Iowa) University at 7:30 pm on Wednesday night.
The Bulldogs will get into doubleheader mode, following the women’s team hosting Rockhurst at 5:30.
Truman will be after its first win against a school from the state of Iowa this season, having gone 0-2 against William Penn and Upper Iowa to kick off the 2012-13 campaign earlier this month.

The Bulldogs have done damage in the first half of games this season, shooting just shy of 50% from the field (49.6%) and outscoring opponents by nearly eight points in the first 20 minutes of games. In the last three contests (QU, CCCB, ISU-exh), Truman has gotten out to leads of 20-2, 30-1 and 7-0 in the opening minutes.

After seeing 13 of its 28 games last season finish within a six point or closer margin, 2013 has already begun to replicate that, with all three of Truman’s losses coming within five points (5, 3, 2). The Bulldogs went 3-10 in the 13 close games last season.

Quincy’s Jordan Wilson hit a jumper with just 0.7 seconds to play, capping a comeback by the host Hawks to defeat the Truman men’s basketball team 62-60 on Nov. 20 in Pepsi Arena.
Isaac Gardner hit four triples off the bench for a team-high 12 points, with Marek Bush adding 10 points and nine rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench.
The Bulldogs shot 36% from the field overall, 24% from three-point range and 78% from the free throw line.
