Missouri Basketball opened exhibition play in impressive fashion, building a 43-point second half advantage before cruising to a 91-58 victory over Northwest Missouri State in the preseason opener for both clubs.
Missouri debuted its new-look roster complete with a host of talented transfers and the return of senior forward Laurence Bowers, and dazzled a crowd of nearly 8,000 fans with the 33-point victory.
Newcomers Earnest Ross and Keion Bellled Mizzou with a combined 42 points on 16-of-25 shooting, but lit up the scoring column in very different ways.
Ross connected on 6-of-10 shots from three-point range and Bell, a transfer from Pepperdine, drove to the hoop and even wowed the Mizzou Arena faithful with a spectacular dunk in traffic.
Overall Missouri's newcomers accounted for 73-of-91 and the Tigers shot an impressive 62 percent from the floor.
