The official start to the 2012-13 basketball season for the Indian Hills Warriors will be next Tuesday night’s “Meet the Warriors” event at the Hellyer Student Life Center.
Activities will begin at 7:00 and will include the introduction of players and coaches followed by a scrimmage. Halfway through the scrimmage there will be a 3-point shooting contest, a dunk contest and the introduction of the cheer squad.
Players will be available to sign autographs at the conclusion of the evening and there will be information on joining the IHCC Booster Club.
There will be free admission for the Oct. 23 event. The Warriors open the regular season in the Blackwell Tire Company Classic Nov. 2-3.
IHCC coach Barret Peery will take his team to Johnson County CC in Kansas for a jamboree this weekend. The Warriors will play three Kansas schools – Cowley County, Allen County and Neosho County – on Sunday. The games are treated as scrimmages per NJCAA scheduling rules.
Tickets can still be purchased for the Warriors’ 17-game home schedule. They are $102 and available in the IHCC Athletic Office in the Hellyer Center.
