The Jets and Rams have completed their swap of struggling right tackles, with New York acquiring Jason Smith from St. Louis for Wayne Hunter.
(AP) --
Both Smith, the No. 2 overall pick by the Rams in the 2009 draft, and Hunter had lost their starting jobs and the trade gives both a chance to rejuvenate their careers elsewhere.

Smith was due $4 million this season, but a person familiar with the deal tells The Associated Press on Tuesday that the Rams restructured his deal. Smith received a $1.55 million signing bonus that the Rams will pay, with the remaining $2.45 million paid by the Jets, according to the person who spoke on condition of anonymity because neither team publicly discussed financial details of the deal.
