Jack Fay, Tanner Morris and Pat Spain have been added to the 2012-13 Truman State University Men’s Tennis roster.

Fay (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge HS) was part of three state championship teams at Rock Bridge High School and won the individual doubles state championship his senior season.

He is ranked in the Top 25 in the United States Tennis Association’s Missouri Valley B18s group.

Fay won the Sportsmanship award at the USTA Zone Team Tournament in St. Louis and is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Junior Leadership of Columbia.

Morris (Kirkwood, Mo./Kirkwood HS) completed his successful high school career with a 71-12 record as he worked his way up to become Kirkwood’s top singles player in his senior season.

He won the district singles championships in 2012 and was a first round winner at the state singles tournament.

He posted as 14-4 record as a junior playing at number two and was part of a team that reached the state quarterfinals. In the USTA Missouri Valley section, Morris had been ranked in the top 30.

Spain (Alton, Ill./Alton) was an all-state selection for the Redbirds the past three years and earned all-conference first-team accolades in all four seasons at Alton High School.

Spain was a four-year all-area player and has been a member of the school’s student council, prom court and honor roll.

All three of these young men will come to Truman with tremendous high school playing experience,” said Head Coach Dan Blodgett.

“They will each contribute significantly to our team this upcoming year as freshmen.”
