(AP) - The Kansas City Chiefs' defense will carry bragging rights into next months' training camp.

During a mock 2-minute drill to finish up their mandatory three-day minicamp Thursday, the defense stuffed the Kansas City

offense, forcing a long field goal that kicker Ryan Succop missed wide left.

The defense then turned around and stuffed the backup offense.

It was precisely the kind of spirited end to voluntary workouts and the minicamp that coach Romeo Crennel wanted to see.

Crennel said he was encouraged by the amount of progress Kansas City has made the past few weeks, particularly in learning a new offensive system.

He believes the Chiefs are well-positioned to hit the ground running when training camp starts in St. Joseph, Mo.
