With temperatures soaring into the 90s on Saturday, Joey Walls finished 11th in a race dictated by the heat in the finals of the men’s 1500 meter run at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Walls ran 4:20.24 nearly 16 seconds slower than his qualifying time on Thursday night when temps were about 20 degrees cooler.
Andrew Graham of Adams State won the individual title with a time of 4:13.98 as just seven seconds separated first through 11th in the race.
