Senior Bridget Schade became Truman softball’s first all-MIAA first-team player in four seasons and headlined six Bulldogs on all-conference teams.

Schade was joined by repeat all-conference players Laura Miller and Kelsey Bollman, along with three first-timers – Kelsea Dorsey, Katie Pitts and Liz Leath – on the all-MIAA teams. Dorsey notched second-team honors in her first season at the collegiate level, while Miller, Bollman, Pitts and Leath all landed on the honorable mention squad.

In becoming Truman’s first all-MIAA first-teamer since 2008 Schade hit a team-best .432 with 12 home runs and 44 RBI’s in 139 at-bats.

She started all 51 games, primarily in right field, and drew 30 walks while striking out only 16 times.

She added two steals and scored 34 runs.

Dorsey picked up second-team honors after appearing in 35 games in the circle and posting a 16-9 overall record.

She completed 16 of her 22 starts and tossed three shutouts, including a no-hitter and a one-hitter, during her freshman campaign.

Dorsey finished the season with a 2.72 ERA and 133 strikeouts.

Pitts  became a first-time all-MIAA performer in her senior season, hitting .371 in 105 at-bats.

She hit a team-best .408 in MIAA games and stole nine bases during her 40 total games played.

She also added three doubles and put down 13 sacrifices on the season.

Miller  made her third appearance on the all-MIAA honorable mention team in as many years, hitting .305 while spending the majority of the season as the club’s leadoff hitter.

She started 49 of Truman’s 51 games, recording 10 doubles and 14 RBI’s while swiping 10 bases in 10 attempts. Miller also made just two errors in 83 chances in the outfield.

Bollman ( hit .323 in her sophomore season to earn all-conference accolades for the second consecutive year.

She was named honorable mention as a utility player after spending time at both second and third base. Bollman had an MIAA-high 20 doubles to go with a triple and three home runs.

Leath was named an all-MIAA honorable mention catcher after hitting .350 with 16 doubles and seven home runs during her freshman season.

She spent the beginning of the year splitting time between third base and the designated player positions before taking over at catcher for the final 16 games of the year – during which she hit .409.

The six players listed on all-MIAA teams marked the most since 2005 when seven Bulldogs were selected.

Pittsburg State’s senior shortstop Amanda DeCastro was selected as the MIAA’s player of the year, while Missouri Western’s sophomore pitcher Jackie Bishop earned MIAA pitcher of the year honors.
