Truman volleyball will play host to a Division I spring scrimmage on Saturday, as premier programs Illinois and Kansas State will meet in Pershing Arena. Admission is free to the public.

The University of Illinois and Kansas State University are coming off deep runs in the 2011 NCAA Div. I tournament, as the Fighting Illini reached the national championship match while the Wildcats advanced to the regional semifinals.

Saturday’s event will begin at approximately 10:00 a.m. with the teams playing again at approximately 1:00 p.m. Both sessions are open to the public.

"This is going to be a great chance for the Kirksville community to watch two of the top Division I programs in the country right in our backyard," Truman head coach Ben Briney said. "We're excited for the opportunity to host Coach Hambly's and Coach Fritz's squads as they compete in their spring seasons."
