Junior Jessica Tomash fired an even-par 72 to be one of three golfers tied for the individual lead, and the Bulldogs as a team turned in a 324 to sit sixth after the first round of the Washington (Mo.) University Invitational.

Tomash shot a balanced 36-36 to take home top honors through the first 18 holes, while senior Liz Lestmann junior Lynn Dreisilker and senior Jessica Schepker also contributed to the team score with marks of 83, 84, and 85 respectively.

Freshman Riley Keltner shot a 94 on day one.

The team round of 324 is the second-lowest score of the season for the ’Dogs, including the lowest first round score in any event this season.

Drury (Mo.) and tournament-host Washington are tied for the team lead at 304.

The final round began today at 10:00 am at Gateway National Golf Club.
