Jaroslav Halak come up big as St. Louis stops Anaheim

(AP) -- Patrik Berglund scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and Jaroslav Halak made 24 saves for his career-high seventh straight win to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 3-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night.


St. Louis improved to a league-best 28-4-4 at home with their seventh win in eight games. David Backes and Kevin Shattenkirk also scored for St. Louis, which is 20-1-3 in its last 24 home games.

The Blues have a league-leading 93 points, marking the first time they have led the NHL in points this late in the season since March 9, 2000.


Corey Perry scored for Anaheim, which has lost four of its last six.


Halak, who improved to 23-10-5, won six in a row from Jan. 3-21.


He lost six of his first seven starts.
