The Missouri S&T Miners took the first two games of the four-game series against the Truman Baseball team on Saturday.
The Miners won the opener 6-0 and took the nightcap 11-4.
The series will conclude on Sunday with a doubleheader starting at noon.
Miners’ pitcher Zack Gronek fanned eight Bulldogs and allowed just three hits in the complete game shutout in the opener.
Josh Caffrey started the scoring with a two out double off of Truman starter Tyler Stefan in the bottom of the first and the Miners were able to chase Stefan from the game with a four-spot in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The three hits, all singles were collected by the Bulldogs newcomers Blake Marino, Adam Manzer and Zak Larkin.
MST plated six runs, aided by three Bulldog errors in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the nightcap 11-4.
Daniel Jewett went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs for Truman.
Jarrett Eiskina was tagged with the loss after going five innings, allowing three runs, two earned and striking out five.
Jerod Hahn collected two hits as all eight in the game were singles.
