Blues skate past Islanders

(AP) -- Andy McDonald scored his first goal of them season, and T.J. Oshie had goal and an assist in the St. Louis Blues' 5-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Thursday night.


Kevin Shattenkirk, Jason Arnott and David Perron also scored, and Alex Pietrangelo had three assists to help the Blues move within three points of NHL-leading Detroit with 77 points.


Brian Elliott made 26 saves, allowing only Frans Nielsen's goal.
