(AP) -- Officials say more than 7,500 tickets mhave been sold for the U.S. Olympic team wrestling trials in Iowa City.

USA Wrestling events director Pete Isais says ticket demand for the 2012 trials - to be held April 21-22 at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena - is the highest it has ever been.

The trial will determine who'll wrestle for the United States in the London Olympics.

Six former University of Iowa wrestlers are among the 175 athletes who already have qualified for the event.
