The Truman women’s basketball team will be looking for their second straight home win asthey host #17 Emporia State University on Saturday in Kirksville.

The Lady Hornets have won seven straight against the Bulldogs including a 70-49 win back on Dec. 17th.

Junior Becka McHenry recorded the first triple-double in 13 years for the Bulldogs and first in six in the MIAA but Truman lost to #16 Pittsburg State 73-68 on Wednesday night.

It was the fourth straight loss for the Bulldogs when having a double-digit lead at some point during the game.

McHenry scored 14 points and added 10 rebounds and 10 assist to earn the first triple-double since Amy Eagan scored 18 with 10 and 10 on December 1, 1998 against Morningside (Iowa).

Junior Jennifer Conway also had a career night as she dumped in 23 points, a new career high.

Emporia State (14-3; 10-2 MIAA), without their second leading scorer Kelsey Balcom, held off Missouri Western on Wednesday night 73-65.

It was a horrendous start for the Bulldogs in the first meeting with Emporia State back in December.

Truman was just 4-of-25 in the first half, not getting their first field goal until the 6:39 mark of the half, in the 70-49 loss.

Nicole Gloor and Jennifer Conway accounted for more than half of Truman’s points, 16 and 13 respectively and Kelsey Balcom led ESU with 16 of her own.

On paper, the two teams are nearly identical in statistics with both averaging around 70 points per game and allowing 59.

The only major difference in stats is in three-point defense. Emporia limits opponents to just 28% from the field from three while Truman’s opponents are shooting 31%. Rebounding, assists, turnovers are about the same
