(AP) -- State Auditor Tom Schweich (shwyk) has given good marks overall to the panel that oversees Kansas City's publicly-owned Truman Sports Complex.
But in a report released Monday, Schweich also says the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority has occasionally strayed from Missouri's open meetings law.
The Truman Sports Complex is the home of the Chiefs' Arrowhead Stadium and the Royals' Kauffman Stadium.
Schweich's audit found that on several occasions, the authority's governing board said it was closing a meeting to discuss one topic but then discussed others not allowed under the Missouri Sunshine Law.
The law permits public bodies to hold closed meetings only on a narrow range of topics, including contracts and certain personnel matters.
