(AP) - Magic center Dwight Howard says he hasn't spoken with general manager Otis Smith since telling the executive that he wants to be traded.

Howard said Sunday that he conveyed to management several times during the pre-lockout offseason the type of personnel moves he would like to see that could persuade him to stay in Orlando.

But he says those suggestions were ignored.

Smith has said he will pursue trade options, but that the team's goal remains keeping the All-Star center's services.

Howard acknowledged for the first time on Saturday that he formally requested a trade.

Smith had previously granted New Jersey, Dallas and the Los Angeles Lakers permission to talk to Howard's agent, Dan Fegan, about possible deals.
