Rick Hendrick Plane Crash Update

(AP) -- NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick returned home Tuesday, a day after he suffered minor injuries when his plane ran off the runway in Key West, Fla.

Hendrick Motorsports says the team owner suffered a broken rib and a broken shoulder when the brakes failed upon landing theGulfstream G150 at Key West International Airport on Monday night.


Hendrick, his wife, Linda, and the two pilots all were released from Lower Keys Medical Center on Tuesday morning and returned to Charlotte.

Linda Hendrick suffered minor cuts and bruises, and the two pilots were not injured.


Hendrick fields cars for five-time defending champion Jimmie Johnson, four-time champion Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Mark Martin.


The plane is joint-owned by Hendrick Motorsports and Jimmie Johnson Racing. It is still in Key West.
