(AP) -- The Kansas City Chiefs are getting back to work after one of the most humiliating defeats in franchise history.

The Chiefs were beaten 41-7 by Buffalo in their season-opener on Sunday.

The offense was inept and the defense was worse.

To top things off, Pro Bowl safety Eric Berry was lost for the season when he tore his ACL just a few plays into the game.

Coach Todd Haley blamed himself for not having the Chiefs ready to go.

He said the entire organization was "embarrassed" by the result and vowed that things would get better.

The Chiefs play at Detroit on Sunday, starting a stretch in which they play four of their next five games on the road.
