(AP) -- Players are keeping up pressure on one another at the World Series of Poker main event, causing quick bustouts that are speeding up the pace of the tournament.

Of the 1,865 players who started their third session in the no-limit Texas Hold `em tournament Thursday, 287 were eliminated during the first two hours of play.

The top 693 players in the tournament get at least $19,000 each.

But the tournament likely won't reach the money until Friday.

Eleven-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth says entrants play fast in the third session because that's what got them through their first two sessions.

He says a lot of players panic because they believe their stacks are too low.

Hellmuth was slightly below average with nearly 100,000 in chips after two hours of play.
