(AP) - Derek Jeter homers for his 3,000th hit, making him the first player to reach the mark with the New York Yankees.

Jeter hit the milestone with a drive to left field with one out in the third inning Saturday at Yankee Stadium.

He became the 28th major leaguer overall to get 3,000.

Jeter singled in the first inning to get close, then got the historic hit against Tampa Bay All-Star David Price.
