Truman men’s basketball head coach Matt Woodley has announced the signing of Tyler Anderson, the eighth signee of the 2011 class, to join the Bulldog program this fall.

Tyler Anderson (Forward, 6-foot-5; Valley High School; West Des Moines, Iowa)

Anderson comes to Truman following a high school career at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, where he averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds per game as a senior.

During his senior season, the 6-foot-5 forward was named first-team all-CIML and was an honorable mention all-state award winner.

Anderson was the MVP of the 2011 CIML all-star game that featured four division I players after leading his squad to a 16-7 record during the season.

“Tyler is a fierce competitor and has a very high basketball IQ,” Woodley said. “He will be as tough as anybody in our program, and we are excited about Tyler joining our program.”

Anderson joins seven other newcomers to the team during the April signing period.
