Four members of the Truman women’s Track & Field team will represent the university next week at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Senior Shaina Dochterman, juniors Anne Ratermann and Jennifer Zweifel along with freshman Becca Nelson will compete in Turlock, Calif. on the campus of California State University Stanislaus.

Women’s 400 Meter Hurdles

Dochterman (Kahoka, Mo., Clark Co.) is making her third appearance at the outdoor championship in the 400-meter hurdles. She finished 12th in 2008 and was an all-American in 2009 following a fourth place finish. Dochterman comes into the 2011 meet with the 12th best time in Division II with a 1:00.56 time set at the MIAA championships on May 8th.

Women’s 800 Meter Run

Ratermann  took advantage of the final week of qualifying to punch her ticket to California and her first championship meet. Ratermann’s time of 2:11.78 broke the 27-year old Truman school record in the 800 meter run last Saturday to move up to 15th in Division II and grab a spot in the meet.

Women’s Triple Jump

After an all-American performance at the Division II Indoor meet in the triple jump, Jennifer Zweifel  will compete in both the long and triple jumps in her second outdoor championships.

Zweifel placed fifth at the NCAA Indoor meet in March and ninth last year in the triple jump and holds the fifth best qualifying mark in the event entering next week.

Before the triple jump, Zweifel will compete on Thursday in the long jump.

She again used the qualifier on Saturday night to improve her standing in the event as she leaped 19-06.25 and sits ninth nationally.
