Truman softball junior Bridget Schade was named the MIAA Hitter of the Week for her performance in a pair of doubleheaders from April 12-18.
Schade picked up the honor, selected by a conference SID panel, for the first time in her career and became the second Bulldog to be recognized this season.
Schade hit .615 with eight hits and six runs scored during four games last week.
The junior went 8-for-13 at the plate with a triple and two home runs to help the Bulldogs pick up a pair of wins.
In the April 12 doubleheader at Illinois-Springfield, Schade had a pair of multi-hit games and touched home four times behind a triple and a home run in the Bulldog sweep.
She also drove in a run in each game, while her home run in game two came in the 7th inning to give the Bulldogs an insurance run in the 6-4 win.
Then, on Saturday, Schade tallied three more hits, scored twice and pounded her fifth home run of the season.
For the week, she posted an OPS of 1.874 and stole two bases.
Defensively playing the outfield, she also had nine putouts and threw out two base runners looking to advance.
On the season, Schade ranks third on the squad with a .344 AVG and has an OPS of .974.
She has nine multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games as well.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to host Northwest Missouri (Friday) and Nebraska-Omaha (Saturday this weekend at the Bulldog Softball Park.
