OTTUMWA -- The city of Ottumwa has approved the Drug Task Force Grant.
The recommendation to approve reapplying of the grant came at Tuesday night’s city council meeting. The grant helps pay for three police officers in the Ottumwa police department.
Every year the city needs to reapply for the grant in order to continue to receive funding.
“This will be the 22nd year this grant has been provided funding for the drug task force,” said Ottumwa Police Chief Jim Clark.
The drug task force includes Davis, Keokuk, Henry, Jefferson, Wapello and Van Buren counties.
City council also approved the selling of two vacant lots. The first is located at 143 N. Davis and the other at 821 Jay.
