No jail time for two in Kansas ticket scandel

(AP) -- Two former athletic officials at theUniversity of Kansas have each received two years' probation for failing to tell authorities about a $2 million ticket-scalping scheme.

A federal judge on Monday also ordered Brandon Simmons, the former assistant athletic director of sales and marketing, to pay $157,480 in restitution. He ordered Jason Jeffries, former assistant director of ticket operations, to pay $56,000 in restitution.

Simmons told the judge he will spend the rest of his life repairing the damage to his name and reputation. Jeffries said he knows he has work to do before people trust him again.
