AMES, IOWA (AP) -- Two Iowa State football players have been suspended from the team after being arrested.

Athletic department spokesman Tom Kroeschell says the suspensions of defensive end Jacob Lattimer and tight end Ricky Howard are indefinite.

The 22-year-old Lattimer faces charges of assault on a peace officer and interference with official acts, while the 20-year-old Howard is suspected of operating while intoxicated.

The juniors were arrested Friday and held overnight at the Story County jail. They were released Saturday.

No phone numbers for the players could be found.

Lattimer played in all 12 games for Iowa State last season. Howard did not play.
