(AP) --  Old friends Greg McDermott and Ben
Jacobson will meet for the third time this season when Creighton
faces Northern Iowa in the Missouri Valley tournament.

The fifth-seeded Bluejays, who are 18-13 in McDermott's first
season since leaving Iowa State, face the fourth-seeded Panthers
Friday in the quarterfinals in St. Louis.

Creighton and Northern Iowa split a pair of games this season,
with each winning on its home floor.

The Bluejays beat Northern Iowa 63-55 last weekend.
The Panthers (19-12, 10-8 MVC) have won the last two Valley
tournaments, but they dropped six of their last seven
regular-season games.

The winner faces a likely matchup with top-seeded Missouri State
in the semifinals on Saturday.
