(AP) -- Drake freshman Rayvonte Rice has been
named the Missouri Valley's newcomer of the week.

Rice averaged 19.5 points and six rebounds in two games, earning
his third newcomer of the week honor this season.

Rice had 17 points and nine boards in a loss to Missouri State.
He added 22 points in a win over Detroit.

Rice leads the Bulldogs will 13.9 points per game and is just 23
points shy of breaking the school record for points by a freshman.

Drake hosts Evansville Tuesday night in its regular season home
finale.
