BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- Morgan Johnson scored a career-high 26 points and No. 16 Iowa held off South Dakota State 65-54 on Saturday night.

Kamille Wahlin added 12 points and six assists for the Hawkeyes (10-1), who went on a late 13-0 run to put away the Jackrabbits (4-7).

Iowa fell behind 40-36 early in the second half, but the Hawkeyes responded with an 11-0 run capped by a layup and two free throws from Johnson that put them ahead 47-40 with 9:45 left.

The Jackrabbits got pulled to 52-51 4 minutes later before Wahlin hit a pair of baskets and Jaime Printy added a 3-pointer for the Hawkeyes. Iowa held South Dakota State without a bucket until Macie Michelson's meaningless 3 with 22 seconds left.

Jill Young had 12 points for South Dakota State, which lost for just the ninth time in 84 home games since joining Division I.
