ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The St. Louis Rams and Kansas City Chiefs usually play the Governor's Cup game at the end of the preseason.
This time, both teams are in playoff mode and even Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon attended Rams practice Friday.
The Rams, who lead the NFC West at 6-7, will play the AFC West-leading Chiefs (8-5) on Sunday in St. Louis. The sold-out game means much more than a meaningless preseason finale where starters seldom play.
The Rams haven't been in a playoff run since 2004 while it's been since 2006 for the Chiefs.
