(AP) -- The Iowa wrestling team has beaten rival
Iowa State 22-13 for its seventh straight dual-meet win over the
Cyclones.
The Hawkeyes extended their dual-meet winning streak to 66 with
the Friday victory.
Iowa (5-0) took four straight matches and led 14-3 midway
through the event.
Iowa freshman Derek St. John's major decision over Trent
Weatherman later gave the Hawkeyes a nearly insurmountable
advantage.
Nate Carr, Jr. and Andrew Sorenson won matches for Iowa State
(4-1), which lost its first dual in 12 tries.
The schools announced during the meet that the winner of the
annual matchup will receive a new award. The Dan Gable Traveling
Trophy will be awarded beginning next year.
