(AP) -- Iowa defensive end Adrian Clayborn has been named a first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association.
Clayborn is the eighth Hawkeyes player to earn the nod from the coach's association and the fifth under coach Kirk Ferentz.
Clayborn has 51 tackles, including seven for losses, even though he's been double-teamed for much of the season.
Clayborn is also a finalist for the Lombardi Award, given to the nation's top lineman.
Iowa kicker Nate Kaeding, linemen Robert Gallery and Eric Steinbach and tight end Dallas Clark were also All-American picks by the coaches while playing for Ferentz.
The Hawkeyes finished the regular season a disappointing 7-5 and are waiting to hear their bowl destination.
