South Dakota State beats Iowa 79-69

IOWA CITY, IOWA (AP) -- Nate Wolters scored 25 points and dished out nine assists and South Dakota upset Iowa 79-69 on Sunday, spoiling coach Fran McCaffery's debut.

Clint Sargent added 16 points for the Jackrabbits (2-0), who handed the Hawkeyes their second straight loss in an opener.

Tony Fiegen hit a layup to put South Dakota State ahead 71-66, and Griffan Callahan buried a jumper from the corner to put the
Jackrabbits ahead by seven with 2:25 left.

Eric May scored 20 points and Jarryd Cole had 17 points and eight boards for the Hawkeyes, who've dropped two consecutive
openers after winning the previous 31.
