COLUMBIA, MO. (AP) -- Safety Jarrell Harrison had to improvise, taking a crash course at linebacker. Pass rusher Aldon Smith put in time at tackle.
Somehow, Missouri made it work on defense while wrapping up an unbeaten home schedule with a 38-28 victory over Kansas State on Saturday. The Wildcats had 422 total yards but also committed four turnovers against the makeshift unit and trailed by 24 before scoring a few late touchdowns that made it look closer.
One linebacker, Will Ebner, was a game-day scratch with neck stiffness. Another linebacker, Luke Lambert, missed a fourth
straight game due to injury. Missouri is having trouble replacing nose tackle Dominique Hamilton, lost for the year with a knee
injury in a victory over Oklahoma three weeks ago.
