(AP) -- Plucked off the Eagles practice squad last year, diminutive Danny Amendola has made the most of his chance.
The 5-11, 186-pounder has become rookie Sam Bradford's go-to guy in the St. Louis Rams' no-name, injury-plagued wide receiver crew.
Before the team's bye last week, Amendola was second in the NFL with 17 third-down receptions. He leads the Rams (4-4) with 45 receptions and has a touchdown reception in each of the last two games.
Amendola was undrafted out of Texas Tech. He spent the 2008 season on the Cowboys' practice squad, then landed with the Eagles' practice squad in 2009.
After being picked up by St. Louis he became a lot more than a fill-in, setting a franchise record for kickoff return yards and catching 43 passes in 14 games.
