(AP) -- Iowa State basketball coach Fred Hoiberg has
announced his first recruiting class, a group featuring small
forward Elgin Cook and three guards.
Cook and guards Tyrus McGee, Tavon Sledge and Anthony Odunsi
all signed letters of intent Wednesday and will be
eligible to play starting next season.
The 6-foot-6 Cook, of Milwaukee, was a first-team all-state pick
as a junior last season.
McGee is a 6-foot-2 transfer from Cowley (Kan.) Community
College. He averaged 16.2 points and 5.2 rebounds last season and
will have two years of eligibility left.
Sledge, a 5-foot-9 point guard from Spring Valley, N.Y., is a
speedy player who chose Iowa State over West Virginia, St. John's,
Cincinnati and others.
Odunsi is a 6-foot-3 guard from Fort Bend, Texas, whom Hoiberg
hailed for his versatility.
