LUBBOCK, TEXAS (AP) -- Taylor Potts came off the bench and threw for 188 yards and three touchdowns to lead Texas Tech over No. 14 Missouri 24-17 on Saturday.
Potts didn't start for the first time this season but came in late in the first half and threw TD passes of 8, 5 and 16 yards on
three straight Red Raiders possessions spanning the halves.
Those 21 unanswered points put Texas Tech up 24-17, its first lead after trailing 17-3.
Missouri disappeared for two quarters until an interception deep in Texas Tech (5-4, 3-4) territory late in the third. Still, the
Tigers failed to move the ball into Red Raiders territory.
Blaine Gabbert completed 12-of-30 passes for 95 yards for the Tigers (7-2, 3-2), who have lost two straight and will have a tough time making up the difference on first-place Nebraska. Missouri lost to the Cornhuskers last week.
