UMKC doubles up Ottawa in exhibition win

(AP) --  Jay Couisnard had 22 points, six
rebounds, five assists and five steals to lead Missouri-Kansas City
to an 84-42 victory over Ottawa in its exhibition opener Friday
night.

 


 The Kangaroos limited the Braves to 29.8 percent shooting,
including just eight points on 3-for-24 shooting in the first half.
 Reggie Chamberlain had 18 points for UMKC, while freshman
Trinity Hall added 12.


 The Kangaroos opened the game on an 18-0 run over five minutes.
Couisnard, Chamberlain and Max Rockman all had a 3 during the run.
 UMKC closed the half on an 18-3 run to take a 43-8 lead,
 UMKC made 15 of 27 3-point attempts (55.6 percent) and
outrebounded Ottawa 51-21.

Turman State will travel to UMKC  Friday November 12.
