Pittsburg State at Emporia State
This will be the 91st all-time meeting between Pittsburg State and Emporia State
in the ninth-longest rivalry in NCAA Division II football. Pitt State holds a 57-31-2
advantage in the series. ESU is No. 2 in the MIAA in scoring defense, giving up just 20
points per game. PSU leads the league in rushing offense with 238.4 yards a game.
Nebraska-Omaha and Washburn will meet for the 31st time. UNO leads the series
16-13-1, including a 31-21 victory last season in Omaha. Washburn running
back Vershon Moore leads the MIAA in rushing with 694 yards (138.8 ypg), while
Nebraska-Omaha running back James Franklin III is second with 480 yards (96.0 ypg).
Truman and Missouri Western are set to meet for the 28th time, with Truman leading
the overall series 15-12. Western won last year’s contest, 38-14 in Kirksville. Truman is
No. 2 in the MIAA in sacks by with 16 for a league-leading loss of 127 yards.
Missouri Western is second in the conference in scoring offense with 39.0 points per game.
This will be just the seventh all-time meeting between Central Missouri and Fort Hays
State. Central holds the edge in the series, 4-2, including a 48-3 triumph a year ago.
UCM’s Eric Czerniewski is 53 yards away from becoming the MIAA’s all-time passing
leader. FHSU is third in the league in total defense, giving up 328.4 yards per game.
Northwest Missouri and Missouri Southern will meet for the 22nd time, with
Northwest leading the series, 17-4. The Bearcats have won the last 15 against the
Lions. NWMSU would tie its own record of 41 consecutive MIAA regular season wins
