Truman State University women’s soccer goalkeeper Jayne Grisham was named the MIAA Player of the Week for her efforts from Sept. 13-19, as announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office.
Grisham recorded her 14th and 15th career shutouts as part of a 1-0-1 week on the road at Missouri Southern and Southwest Baptist.
Grisham logged 200 minutes between the pipes, making four saves against two of the MIAA’s top offenses statistically entering the week.
She has played in seven of the eight halves to start MIAA play for the Bulldogs, shutting out the opposition in each.
Truman’s defense, as a whole, hasn’t allowed a goal in more than 435 minutes, including all four MIAA contests and dating back to the first half of a 2-1 win at Central Oklahoma on Sept. 5.
It’s the third time in her career that the junior has earned MIAA Player of the Week accolades and first time in 2010.
The Bulldogs have now had two players named conference Player of the Week this season, as senior forward Beth Bystrom earned the award on Sept. 7.
The Bulldogs are 4-1-1 on the season and lead the MIAA with 10 points through four matches.
