SONOMA, CALIF. (AP) -- Rick Hendrick says he still has not figured out where Kasey Kahne will drive next season, and he dismissed a report that he had a deal with James Finch's No. 09 car.

Kahne has signed to join Hendrick Motorsports in 2012 in the No. 5 Chevrolet currently driven by Mark Martin.

Team owner Hendrick is responsible for finding a ride for Kahne for next season. He said when the signing was announced in April that he'd have a deal done within 90 days, so Hendrick has one month left under his original timeline.

Kahne has stayed out of the process and said he trusts Hendrick to figure out how he'll spend the 2011 gap year.
