Nebraska will seek Big Ten membership

(AP) -- The University of Nebraska plans to apply
for membership in the Big Ten Conference and expects to be
accepted.

Chancellor Harvey Perlman disclosed the plan Friday during a
meeting of the university's Board of Regents.

Nebraska's departure would be a big blow to the Big 12, which
lost Colorado to the Pac-10 Conference on Thursd
