(AP) -- Stanford police say dismissed Cardinal
point guard JJ Hones was arrested earlier this month on suspicion
of driving under the influence on a golf cart, reckless driving,
evading a police officer in a marked vehicle and resisting arrest.

The school announced Monday that coach Tara VanDerveer had
dismissed Hones from the program for a violation of team rules, but
didn't elaborate. That marked the end of her injury-plagued career.

Lt. Grant Cunningham of Stanford's Department of Public Safety
says Hones was arrested on campus at 1:38 a.m. on May 2 after
driving the golf cart recklessly and failing to obey officers'
commands. Cunningham says she failed a series of field sobriety
tests and was then booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on
$5,000 bail.

 Charges are pending.
